A reflection on the end of the year

2025 was a big year! I married my best friend, graduated with my MBA, celebrated my one-year anniversary as a Career Advisor for the CBA Career Center at UNO, stepped out of the interim worship director role at my church, watched the Denver Broncos rise from the ashes of the Russell Wilson deal, and posted on my blog WAY more than in past years.

As I reflect on the past year, my reaction is one of extreme gratitude. I invested in friendships, began a weight loss journey, experienced amazing travel, and embraced my love of food through new cooking skills. I’m thrilled with where my salsa recipe sits at the end of 2025, improved through careful experimentation this year.

I listened to a wide variety of music, bought a mandolin, a keyboard for our apartment, and a new guitar. My Letterboxd stats show that I watched more movies in 2025 than in any year since 2022.

As I sit in a coffee shop on December 30th, I’m thankful for the people who have surrounded me as a strong community. I’m thankful for work that brings me joy and purpose. I’m thankful for a faith community at church that reminds me of my calling to glorify God and enjoy Him forever. I’m thankful for people who call out injustice where we see it and work to give voice to the voiceless. I’m thankful for humor, levity, and especially puns.

I look forward to 2026 and the continued adventures it will bring! Thank you for being a part of my story in 2025!
